won having finished close up in ireland on her
previous run. "nicky henderson and martin pipe
both have a fantastic record in this race.
this year henderson has two likely runners in
non so (runner up to spirit leader two years
ago) and geos (twice a previous winner of this
race, including last year). pipe will no doubt
have quite a few runners, but his best chance
would appear to be star novice marcel. "finally,
the state of the ground and therefore the
weather is bound to play a huge part in the
race. with rain forecast, there has been a
gamble on roman ark. he proved his liking for
heavy ground with an impressive victory in his
last race, so is one to watch."
