betting player performance bets
we quote "player performance", where selected
players are awarded various performance points based upon
particular events:
goal scored = +25pts
(the goal-scorer as awarded by tv coverage.)
goal assist = +10pts
(the final touch before a goal is scored. if it hits an
opposition player or woodwork first, no assist is given.)
shot on target =+5pts
(does not include woodwork. includes all attempts on target
that require the goalkeeper to make a save, or results in
a defensive block within the 6-yard box. if a save or block
is made from a shot that is going wide, this is not a shot
on target.)
forcing a corner = +3pts
(the last attacking player to touch the ball before the
corner is conceded by the defending team. if the ball hits
two opposition players before going out of play, no forced
corner is given.)
free kicks won = +3pts
(including penalties)
passing to own player in opposition half = +2pts
(a successful pass where the passer gets the ball to his
own player in the opposition half. the pass can originate
from anywhere on the field. a pass is deemed successful
if a player from the same team gets any form of contact
on the ball. there is no element of control required from
the receiving player. the pass must be seen on camera. in
the event of a match being covered by more than one station,
sporting index will nominate which coverage will apply before
kick-off.)
free kick conceded = -3pts
(including penalties, handballs and off-sides)
yellow card = -10pts
red card = -25pts
(there is a maximum of 35 points per player. in the event
of a second yellow card being awarded, we retain the first
yellow (-10) and then add the red (-25).)
we will normally offer player performances on three or four
players from each team.

the player performance quote for robbie keane might be
40-45.
if you believed he was an over-rated player likely to be
out played by his marker, you would go low (sell) at 40
for £2. a drab performance might lead to a make-up
of just 7 points.
had you sold keane’s performance at 40 you would
have won 33 times your stake.
33 x £2 = £66
if, however, his attacking style had led you to buy his
performance at 45, you would have lost 38 times your stake.
38 x £2 = -£76
